The wife and I have had a great deal of success on the slow-carb diet. A key component of this diet is one day a week, you take a day off and eat whatever you want, how much you want. Oh, the glory of the cheat day...

I was not going to give up a cheat day, even though we went to a huge buffet on vacation in Vegas. Began with cereal, chips and cookies. After a workout, a protein shake, more chips, more cookies, and a bowl of frozen berries with pickled tumeric root. Lunch was half of a large Papa John's pizza. This was followed by more cookies, the remainder of those chips, and some candy bars. Ended the day with a big bowl of cherry/vanilla ice cream.
Weight Gain: 0.8 pounds. Here is an example of how I cannot determine how the body processes food. But I will say I will take it. Over an eight day period, three cheat days and a not strict adherence to the SCD, the total weight gain was only 5.6 pounds. I've had that on one cheat day. Like I said, I'll take it.
