The wife and I have had a great deal of success on the slow-carb diet. A key component of this diet is one day a week, you take a day off and eat whatever you want, how much you want. Oh, the glory of the cheat day...

Didn't really know where we wanted to go, so ultimately decided on Outback. Started off the day with a kale, carrot, walnut and pomegranate salad and a bowl of grapefruit and pineapple. Had another one of those carrot cake cupcakes after that.
Lunch was Outback, with a Bloomin' Onion, salad and steak (we get the six ounce at this point, and Beth gets mixed veg, I get the potato, and then we split the veg the potato).
Had a snack of candy corn and nuts, followed by a big bowl of ice cream. Beth craved some chocolate, so I craved some chocolate and had a few of those mini-candy bars.
Weight gain: Surprisingly, 5.8 pounds. Thought it would be less - I blame Beth for the additional chocolate.
