The wife and I have had a great deal of success on the slow-carb diet. A key component of this diet is one day a week, you take a day off and eat whatever you want, how much you want. Oh, the glory of the cheat day...

December 29, 2013
Had some avocados so made guacamole. Had that with some chips and cookies (I did not put any guac on the cookies).
After a workout, it was a protein smoothie.
And then the madness started. For my birthday, Beth and I went to Texas de Brazil because I had a BOGO coupon. TdeB is a churrascaria, or Brazilian steakhouse. Gauchos come to your table with meat on a rotisserie. With large knives they cut off the meat and put it on your plate. A friend once referred to this as a "meat orgy."
So, I ate a lot of beef. A whole lot. I mean, lots and lots and lots. In addition to the beef, there is the "salad" bar. I did get some veggies, but for the most part, it's cheese (like the grilled provolone), salami, bacon, and my favorite, prosciutto. I ate lots of prosciutto. I also had two servings of their lobster bisque.
No dessert at TdeB, so after we got home, yes, I still had some ice cream and a cookie. This was my birthday celebration, after all.
Weight gain (wait for it): 6.0 pounds (wow!).
