The wife and I have had a great deal of success on the slow-carb diet. A key component of this diet is one day a week, you take a day off and eat whatever you want, how much you want. Oh, the glory of the cheat day...

November 17, 2013
Even after starting the day off with a muffin, there is still one left (Costco should sell these in the half-dozen and not the full 12). That was accompanied with some candy. Later it was a post-workout smoothie.
For lunch, we stayed local and went to Mandarin, the Warrenton Chinese buffet. Started off with the usual - vegetable tempura, chicken teriyaki, beef roll (they call it something else), egg roll, dumplings, and fried shrimp. This was followed with some mushrooms, different types of chicken, some garlic shrimp & chicken, something with broccoli, and probably some pepper steak. Last trip to the buffet for 'regular' items included more dumplings, some olives, more chicken and more broccoli. Oh, a bowl of pineapple chunks. Finally dessert: Vanilla ice cream, cotton candy ice cream, and a sesame ball filled with red bean paste on the side.
I'm sure there were some of those pumpkins & peanuts snacked throughout the day.
Finally, finished off the free (or really cheap) cookies from the grocery store and a couple of fun-sized candy bars.
Weight gain: 4.8 pounds.
